ABSTRACT

Around 400 million of India’s population plus one billion are children. If children can be provided with the bare necessities for healthy growth and development, it will undoubtedly significantly impact how the country will develop in the future. Sadly, despite some important government measures, several substantial interventions by the judiciary, and numerous interventions by foreign and civil society groups, it is not occurring right now. The prospective beneficiaries of sustainable development who stand to gain the most are children. The biggest barrier to granting children’s rights is a lack of awareness, dedication, enforcement methods, and qualified employees. A thorough legislation on children is required, one that incorporates each child’s civil, political, socioeconomic, and cultural rights as well as their rights to survival, protection, development, and protection. At many various levels, including the person, child, parent, family, community, and society, advocacy is greatly needed. Through the efforts of grassroots social action groups, social movements, people’s organizations, and regional and national coalitions, several child rights have been achieved as a consequence of sustained lobbying campaigns.
